We, the Humanitarian Forum Yemen (HFY) and the below signed National Non-Governmental Organizations, strongly condemn and denounce the airstrikes by the Saudi led coalition which hit the houses of civilians in Faj-Attan area of Sana’a on Friday 25th of August 2017 and left more than 30 dead or wounded, majority of whom were women and children. Unfortunately, the abominable act was carried out after only one day from strikes by the Saudi led coalition that hit a motel in Arhab and left more than 100 civilians dead or wounded.
We, the Humanitarian Forum Yemen and the below signed Non-Governmental Organizations, condemn this targeting of civilians. We also express deep concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen, which the continued war has caused and remind the UN and the International Community that the humanitarian disaster in Yemen is against the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
We, the Humanitarian Forum Yemen and the below signed Non-Governmental Organizations, also condemn the international silence and the silence of human rights and humanitarian organizations over the suffering of the Yemeni people who are constant targets of the attacks of the Saudi led alliance. The silence, which violates the humanitarian principles and its established goals, is a disgrace that history will record.
We, the Humanitarian Forum Yemen and the below signed Non-Governmental Organizations, call for the UN Security Council and the United Nations for an immediate investigation into the matter to ensure that the perpetrators of the crime are held accountable. The Humanitarian Forum Yemen also emphasizes the need to stop the war and support Yemen to overcome the negative effects of the war and the deep wounds that the war has caused and make a new beginning towards stability, reconstruction, and peace.
We, the Humanitarian Forum Yemen and the below signed Non-Governmental Organisations, would like to remind the world that stability of the Arab region as well as international stability, is closely linked with the stability of Yemen and that failure to stop the war in Yemen and contain the humanitarian disaster will have negative effects that will go much beyond the devastation in Yemen, effects on it’s economy, safety and security and will have repercussions at the regional and international level as well.
